Café culture lovers, you are in for a treat next month when the first ever Winchester Coffee Festival takes place!

Held on Saturday 29 September at the Guildhall Winchester, it’s set to be a celebration of our wonderful region’s fast-growing café scene. There will be plenty to see, try and buy – I’m already looking forward to sampling my way around the Guildhall.

Taking place over two sessions, a day time one (11am) and an evening one (7pm), the festival will offer visitors the chance to learn the secrets of creating the perfect cup of coffee from local experts including Winchester Coffee School and Mozzo Coffee.

Local coffee roasters will be on hand and there’s a chance to come away with some new latte art skills to show off. I always think latte art looks very impressive, so I’m very interested in learning how it’s done!

In the evening session, I’ll be looking forward to the festival’s signature coffee cocktails, created by local cocktail experts and festival organisers, the Cabinet Rooms.

It’s not purely about coffee though…tea drinkers like me will also be served well by exhibitors including Birchall Tea and there will be plenty for foodies to indulge in too.

The festival is a collaboration between Guildhall Winchester, The Cabinet Rooms and Flat Whites and an opportunity to meet many of those involved in our lovely independent café culture scene. The festival organisers are actively encouraging attendees to be curious, to discover new drinks and put their questions to local beverage experts.. Personally, while I know a fair bit about tea, I don’t know much about coffee and the secrets of a really good cup of the stuff…so I’m excited to learn!

With a friendly atmosphere, DJs and live music accompanying the proceedings, it really will be a unique and enjoyable day out – it could even be a great place to kick off the Christmas shopping. Get your tickets here or in person from Cabinet Rooms, Flat Whites’ and the Tourist Information Centre

Winchester Coffee Festival is sponsored by Oatly, BWT, Winchester BID, Patron XO Cafe, Guildhall Winchester, Cabinet Rooms, Winchester Coffee School, Think Creative and Flat Whites.
